Nursery workshops: watercolour, terrariums and wreaths before Christmas

You’ve been asking us about them for a while and we can finally confirm it: the nursery workshops are back with 3 dates for the rest of the year. Three Saturday mornings at Losteflor, in Chiclana, to paint, build a small glass ecosystem and get ready for Christmas with your own hands.

The nursery workshops schedule until December

These are the three dates. They all start at 11:30 and places are limited, because we work in groups of 12 people at most so everyone can enjoy it at a relaxed pace.

  • Saturday 14 November · Botanical watercolour, Christmas card special, with @abrilenconil · €35
  • Saturday 28 November · Terrariums with @ecodecs · €45, all materials included
  • Saturday 12 December · Christmas wreaths with @abrilenconil · €45

14 November: botanical watercolour for your Christmas cards

We open the season with watercolour. It’s a special Christmas workshop, led by @abrilenconil and focused on Christmas cards, with botany as the common thread. A place costs €35, making it the most affordable of this season’s nursery workshops.

28 November: the terrarium workshop with Ecodecs is back

It’s the workshop you’ve asked us about the most, and it returns hand in hand with Ecodecs. The idea is simple: create your own terrarium step by step, at the nursery and with your hands in the soil. It’s €45 per person with all materials included and a maximum of 12 places, like the rest of the nursery workshops.

If you missed out on the June edition, here’s what we shared about the previous terrarium workshop.

A world inside a glass

Terrarium in a glass tube with a cork lid, moss and a red-leaved plant

Plants, soil, water and light working together inside a closed container. That’s how we summed it up when we presented the workshop, and that’s why a well-made terrarium is as much a small landscape as it is a botany lesson.

Every layer has its job

Materials for building a terrarium: clay balls, stones, moss, substrate, bark and plants

Choosing the right materials and plants is what makes a terrarium last. Clay balls, stones, moss, substrate, bark and plants with striking leaves: every layer has its job and every plant its place. The rest is letting nature work its magic.

12 December: Christmas wreaths to close the year

The last of the nursery workshops once again features @abrilenconil, this time with Christmas wreaths. A place costs €45 and it’s the perfect way to start December with something you’ve made yourself.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sign up on my own?

Of course. You can come to the nursery workshops on your own, as a couple or with friends.

What do I take home at the end?

Something beautiful, full of life and made by you. On 28 November, that’s your own terrarium, built by you step by step.

How long does a terrarium last?

As we explained when we presented the workshop, a well-made terrarium looks after itself almost entirely for years. The key is choosing the right materials and plants from the start.
